Privacy

This site collects very little, and this page describes exactly what it does rather than reciting a generic template.

What we do not do

• We run no advertising, no ad networks, no affiliate links and no advertising tracking pixels.
• There are no accounts, logins, forms, newsletters or comments, so there is nothing for you to submit.
• We do not sell or rent personal information.
• We load no web fonts and no third-party scripts other than the analytics described below.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand basic traffic patterns — how many people visit, which articles they read, and roughly where in the world they are. We use it for nothing else. We do not run advertising, do not build advertising audiences from it, and do not use it to identify individual visitors.

To do this, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser (typically _ga and a related identifier, which persist for up to two years) and sends Google your IP address, user agent, referring page, and the pages you view on this site. Google processes that data as our provider and under its own terms; IP addresses are truncated by Google before being stored.

If you would rather not be measured, you can block it: use your browser's tracking protection or an ad/tracker blocker, enable "Do Not Track" in a browser that honours it, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. Blocking it does not affect anything on this site — nothing here depends on JavaScript.

Server logs

This site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel's infrastructure processes standard request data — IP address, user agent, requested page, timestamp — in order to deliver the page and to protect against abuse. These operational logs are held by our host for a short retention period and are not combined with anything else, not used to profile visitors, and not accessible to us as an identifiable record of an individual. Vercel acts as our hosting processor; see Vercel's own privacy documentation for its practices as a provider.

Images

Article images are served from Google Cloud Storage, which likewise processes standard request data to deliver the file. No image on this site is a tracking pixel.

Links to other sites

Articles may occasionally link to external sites. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

Children

This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children.

Your rights

If you are in the UK, EEA, or a jurisdiction such as California with comparable rights, you may ask what personal data we hold about you and request its deletion, and you may object to analytics processing. We hold no account or contact records, and the analytics data we can see is aggregated rather than tied to a named person — so the practical remedy is usually to block the tag as described above. Changes

If this site ever adds advertising or any further form of data collection, this page will be updated before that change goes live.
